BioTalk More formed in 2013 to explore new forms of collaboration through total democratic dialogue. A trio of seasoned performers and improvisers, their music inhabits the fuzzy regions between improvisation and composition, ambience and noise, accessibility and experimentation, stasis and movement, drone and melody. Three recipients of Mills College’s MFA in Electronic Music, they use their educational foundation in the avant-garde to bring academic concepts of psychoacoustics, structure, form, and texture to a purely aesthetic experience which requires no advanced degrees to appreciate. Aaron Oppenheim plays Laptop-instrument, Shanna Sordahl plays Cello and electronics, and Andrew Weathers plays Guitar and electronics. The members of Talk More also perform in myriad groups in the Bay Area and across the USA, including Andrew Weathers Ensemble, JASA Quartet, Architect/Enchantress, So Ar, Parties, and many others. Individually they have performed at the San Francisco Electronic Music Festival, the San Francisco Tape Music Festival, Communikey in Boulder Colorado, the International Supercollider Symposium, CEMEC, and the Sonic Boom Festival in Vancouver, Canada. |
